Initial Setup

Learn where to find the initial setup menu, and how to make changes to your ACCOUNTS, categories, and subcategories.

The Initial Setup Menu

  • Click 2A to view a list of your preset Categories and Subcategories
  • Use 2A-C to individually change your Categories and Subcategories
    • Use 2D to import a group of Income and Expense Categories that will overwrite the expense categories you selected when opening the first Big E-Z spreadsheet. Do not include ACCOUNTS, i.e., Checking, Savings, Credit Card, etc. 
    • Use 3A-C to make any necessary changes to your ACCOUNTS
    • Use 4 to enter starting balances and finish setting up the system. Watch the System Settings video for more info on how to do this.
    • Use 5 to Update Reports
    • Go to Main Menu to set up Budget (under Reports), Customers (under Invoices / Receipts), and ACCOUNTS for Importing (under Import)
